At one time, Cold- Heading was thought as an option only suitable for small fasteners but today, cold heading is used for a wide range of metals, sizes and configurations. Cold heading is a process that dates to more than 75 years ago. One of the more important aspects of the process is its virtual elimination of scrap. For metals that are difficult and/or expensive to recycle, eliminating scrap can make cold heading quite the attractive practice, especially in today’s market in which raw materials are at their highest.
