As we reported yesterday, there was some confusion as to exactly which processor would be inside the T-Mobile version of the Samsung Galaxy S II. The other models are powered by Samsung’s own 1.5Ghz dual-core Exynos processor, but we heard the T-Mobile variant would have a “different” dual-core CPU. A Twitter user flat out asked @SamsungSupport and this is the answer they got back:

So there you have it folks, straight from Samsung, the T-Mobile SGSII will have the SnapDragon APQ8060, the same 1.5Ghz dual-core chip that’s inside the HP TouchPad tablet. Yes, there are real people behind the support account, and we can only assume they must have a full spec sheet that hasn’t been made public yet. The reasoning behind the switch is said to be because the Qualcomm APQ8060 dual-core SnapDragon has support for T-Mobile’s 42mbps HSPA+ network. Although it’s yet to be seen how the change will affect performance benchmarks, as Samsung’s Exynos processors are known for blasting benchmarks thanks to a superior GPU.

We just love spy shots of phones still under development, and this is no exception. A high end HTC, featuring a 4 inch screen, full QWERTY spring-loaded sliding keyboard, CDMA/GSM radio “world phone” so it will work when not in the United States, and a 1.2Ghz processor. As well as coming preloaded with at least Android 2.2, if not 3.0.

After the success of the G1, HTC kind of abandoned the sliding QWERTY for a while until the average spec’d MyTouch Slide came out. But it’s good to see they still show love to the keyboard fans out there. I know I couldn’t do without one.

No word on when we might actually see this come out, but you can bet there’s more leaks around the corner soon. Hit the link for a couple more shots.

I know LG fans are saying “Finally!”, but not so quick, right now we just have some new hardware we can drool over, but can’t get our paws on it yet. This seems to be just for Korea, but LG is a worldwide company and they must have something as delicious up their sleeves for the rest of us.

Both new handsets will be rocking the 1Ghz Snapdragon processor that everyone is craving right now. Both also feature a 5MP camera and a 3.5 inch AMOLED touchscreen. The main difference between the two is the obvious, that the SU2300 is sporting a slide out QWERTY keyboard. Or in this case, Korean letters. Let’s hope that changes and this comes stateside soon.

The LF-SU2300, pictured above, is due to be released next month preloaded with Android 1.6, but already scheduled for an upgrade to 2.1 by mid summer.

And below, you see the SU950/KU9500, the slicker, touchscreen only handset, coming out of the gates with Android 2.1 some time in June.

Both handsets will be available in Korea from KT and SK Telecom. No word on US or worldwide releases, but there’s no way they can keep these all to themselves. Can they? No pricing was available or hinted at.
