Sprint announced they would be carrying the Samsung Galaxy Nexus LTE way back at CES in January. But as is all too common with these type of early announcements, they neglected to tell us exactly when it might be available and for how much. The Sprint version of the Galaxy Nexus passed through the FCC recently, which is usually a sign of an impending launch. And we may now have a clue as to an actually release date.

According to this document obtained by The Verge, it points to an April 22nd release. The document is said to originate from a Sam’s Club store, and may not reflect Sprint’s actual sale date. But at least we have more of an idea than “mid-year” when Sprint’s LTE towers actually go live.

Sprint’s Galaxy Nexus is nearly identical to the Verizon version of the device. The only differences being the confirmed addition of Google Wallet and a rumored bump in processor speed to 1.5Ghz.

Additional tidbits of info say that the LG Viper, Sprint’s other LTE device will be out on April 15th.

According to sources to The Digital Reader and the Wall Street Journal, it looks like we’ll be getting a refreshed version of the popular Barnes & Noble Nook Color. Dubbed the Nook Color 2 (although it may be called something else), it will go head to head with Amazon’s Kindle Fire this holiday season.

According to sources, Barnes & Noble will be announcing their latest generation ebook reader on November 7th. Seeing as how they responded when Amazon announced the newest Kindle readers, we’re expecting a sub-$200 price point. Even if B&N takes a hit on the hardware sales, they’re banking on making that money back with ebook sales.

There’s no specific information about the Nook Color 2 hardware, although we do expect the same general form factor. Additionally, we haven’t heard about what version of Android it may be running, or even if it’s Android at all. But we expect the same heavily modified software we’ve seen in the past from B&N. In their brick-and-mortar stores, they’ll be pushing it even harder, devoting more sales floor space to the Nook Color, with brightly lit kiosks and signage.

Now we’ll just have to wait to see if the Nook Color 2 is as hackable as the first one. Which made it popular with the ROM flashing community because you could transform the Nook Color into a fully functional Android tablet.

Ok, let’s put together a string of coincidences. First, as you may have heard Samsung and Google will be announcing Ice Cream Sandwich and the Samsung Galaxy Nexus phone tonight at 10pm EST. Also, we’ve heard that the Asus Transformer 2, expected later this year, is supposed to be one of the first Android tablets powered by the Nvidia Tegra 3 Kal-El processor. Additionally Asus CEO Johny Chan is supposed to be present at tonight’s event. Now, the video you see below showing off the features of the Nvidia Tegra 3 has surfaces.

Put all that together and what do you have? A juicy sounding rumor that there might be more than just Android 4.0 and the Galaxy Nexus announced tonight. Certainly sounds good to us, one of the first quad-core tablets being the first to run the latest version Android, the version that combines tablet and phone operating systems. It will be an monumental event either way, but announcing two Ice Cream Sandwich devices would be twice as good as just one.

Looks like we may finally have answers to the two biggest questions surrounding the Motorola XOOM. How much and when. It may actually launch earlier at Verizon stores or online. And the launch price seems to be $699 according to additional info. Is that a subsidized price? Can’t be sure from the tiny slice of info, but if they want to compete with the iPad and other top shelf tablets on the market, that price is going to have to come down at least another Benjamin.

T-Mobile didn’t have too many crazy announcements at CES 2011. They introduced the Dell Streak 7 and the LG G-Slate tablets as well as the Motorola Cliq 2. But we didn’t get wowed with smartphone announcements like AT&T and Verizon. However LG did show us the LG Optimus Black, which is supposed to be the world’s thinnest smartphone. And a quick look at the spec sheet:

We can see that it supports the UMTS 1700 band, which we know is used by T-Mobile in the united states. I guess we’ll have to wait to hear something official from Big Magenta on the matter, but it looks like T-Mobile users can at least have hope that we’ll be seeing more cool hardware this year.

Thanks to this screenshot, we can see that the rollout for the Android 2.2 build DL11 is scheduled for December 26 and will be sent out over-the-air. And it should reach all users within four days after the rollout begins.

Given the track record for Samsung and their updates, as well as pulled updates, we’ll keep this one in the rumor column till we start seeing some handsets actually getting the update.

Could the B stand for Bright? Or perhaps Brilliant? Not that it really matters, I’m sure it will launch with some other name. But that’s all we know it by right now is the LG B. Shown above between and iPhone 4 and a Galaxy S, two phones known for their great displays. The LG B clearly stands out with its super bright 4 inch display. Of course, there could be brightness adjustment or camera trickery going on here, a display is something that must be experienced in real life. But the other wow factor of this mysterious device is just how thin it is. Shown here next to the iPhone 4 again, which Apple is saying is the thinnest smartphone on the market at 9.3mm, the LG B is significantly thinner.

Hit up Phandroid for more pictures and the rest of the very scarce details.

The HTC EVO Shift 4G aka HTC Speedy/Knight, has been spotted with it’s keyboard slide open, still clad with a hard case from the accessory pictures we saw last week. With a brushed metal keyboard surround and a rather oddly placed white trackpad, it has a unique look on the inside, while looking like a mini EVO 4G on the front. Rumored to have nearly the same hardware specs as the T-Mobile G2/Desire Z and the HTC Merge, the Shift 4G will also feature Sprint’s 4G data.

Now this screenshot has surfaced, presumably from a Sprint computer, showing a Jan 9th release date for the HTC A7373. The HTC A7373 is actually the codename for the Russian version of the Desire Z. Put 2 and 3 together, and now you have the latest rumor. Do what you will with it, but HTC qwerty lovers on Sprint will want to save their pennies now, it’s coming soon.
