AT&T announced a bunch of new devices back at CES that they had planned for the first half of 2012. We’re sill waiting on the Sony Xperia Ion and the Samsung Skyrocket HD. And now we may know when the Xperia Ion is going to get released. It appears that someone pulled the trigger on an ad in Google Search just a bit too early. As you can see above, the ad says the 4G LTE device with a 21MP camera is coming to AT&T in June. We haven’t heard anything official from AT&T yet, but the ad appears to come directly from them.

With CTIA going on this week, we can only assume AT&T will announce the Xperia Ion release dates and pricing, etc. But that one little Google ad seems to have already stolen their thunder.

It’s not the first time we’ve seen a phone outed early due to a prematurely launched ad. The one that stands out in recent memory was the Sprint Galaxy Nexus, that was spotted in an ad before an official announcement.

[via Android Police]

T-Mobile has recently updated their support page for the HTC Sensation 4G, indicating the Android 4.0 update may be closer than we think.

May 2 News: The Android 4.0 (ICS) update for the HTC Sensation 4G has completed its testing process and we expect it to be available very soon. Please stay tuned for an official communication from T-Mobile regarding how and when you’ll be able to receive the update.

A previous leak pointed towards a June 16th date for Ice Cream Sandwich on both the Sensation and Amaze. Then again, using the term “very soon” is still rather vague when referring to firmware upgrades.

The HTC Incredible 4G, also known as the HTC Fireball, has been on our radar for a while now, but there’s been not much information about it other than a few leaks here and there. Today we’re treated to some blurry shots of the device in the wild, a leaked device render image, and more information about the hardware.

As you can see, the Incredible 4G carries the same signature look of the original Incredible and Incredible 2. But in addition to knowing what it looks like, we also have most of the specs:

4-Inch display (unconfirmed)

qHD resolution

1.2GHz dual-core Snapdragon processor

1GB RAM

8GB built-in storage, microSD card slot

8MP rear shooter with zero shutter lag, VGA front camera

NFC

MHL

Beats Audio

LTE

Android 4.0 with Sense 4

From the obvious Verizon branding, we know which carrier it’s headed to. As much as we would all like this to be part of HTC’s new One series phones, it’s just not so. The smaller screen and plastic exterior of the Incredible 4G just don’t match up to the flagship specs on the One X and One S, headed to AT&T and T-Mobile respectively.

The official render of the Incredible 4G has also been leaked out to the web today:

The GSM version of the Nexus S received its update to Android 4.0.4 just a couple days ago. But its WiMax packing sister device, the Sprint Nexus S 4G, has yet to receive some love. The delay of course being due to those WiMax radios that must be included.

While we’re sure the Nexus S 4G will get its due update sometime soon, the impatient do not have to wait. Brief Mobile has gotten there hands on the 4.0.4 IMM76D release and have it available to download over on their site along with flashing instructions.

Those of you that are hesitant to flash the leak on your Nexus S 4G, don’t worry. We’re hearing the official OTA is coming soon, possibly this week.

There’s no shortage of apps in the <del>Android Market</del> Google Play Store that allow you to access videos from TED Talks. Today TED Conferences launched their official app for Android devices. It features over 1,200 audio and video presentations for easy viewing and sharing on your Android phone, tablet or Kindle Fire and more content being added all the time. The app also has the ability to save content for offline access, which is great for a subway commute or airplane trip.

TED for Android features:

Up-to-the-minute videos: TEDTalks are published daily, and Android app users can see the latest TEDTalks videos as soon as they’re available online.

Browse + search: Whether they’re online or off, users can browse the entire TED library – by theme, tag, rating or popularity – and search for a talk by speaker name or topic.

Easy sharing: Users who are inspired by a talk can share it easily over Facebook, Twitter or email.

Bookmarks. Users can mark and save talks for viewing later within their “My Talks” tab.

Offline viewing: The app is designed to support a mobile lifestyle, in which users move fluidly between online and offline use. Users can download video and audio directly to the device to watch on the plane or other locations where Internet connectivity may not be possible. The full library is searchable in offline mode.

Curated audio stream. Out for a jog, multi-tasking, or just interested in listening, TED app users can listen to TEDTalks, either on an individual basis or through TED’s curated audio stream.

Download the official TED app in the Google Play Store for devices running Android 2.1 or higher.

The HTC One X was only just made official by HTC yesterday and electronics retailer Best Buy is already accepting pre-orders for the device when it comes to AT&T in the coming months. Since AT&T has neglected to give a firm release date yet, Best Buy is shooting for the vague launch time of April. And with the lack of pricing, a pre-order at Best Buy will require a $50 down payment, and the unknown balance to be paid later.

As you may recall from the announcement, the international version of the HTC One X is packing the quad-core Tegra 3 processor. However since the Tegra 3 doesn’t play nice with AT&T’s LTE network, the AT&T One X will have a dual core Snapdragon S4 instead.

Anyone impressed with the phone enough to hop on over to their local Best Buy and reserve your One X today? Or would you rather wait till it’s released?

A couple weeks ago was the last time we saw an Ice Cream Sandwich build for the international Galaxy S II leak out. And now there’s a new one, build number I9100XXLPH. It’s still Android 4.0.3 based with TouchWiz on top, and the build date was Feb 9th. Early reports are indicating that it’s a bit snappier with better battery life than the previous leaked version. SamMobile was kind enough to give a side-by-side comparison to the previous build:

Interface: Kind of 3D effect when scrolling.

Battery: Lot better than early ones.

Faster: Feels the same as LPB

Touch: Not so good as LPB.

Overall: Better score in our eyes than LPB .

Facelock: Same as LPB working fine.

Task: Same as version LPB.

We’re drawing ever closer to an actual official public release of Android 4.0 for the Galaxy S II, most likely in the next couple weeks. But for those of you that aren’t patient enough to wait can flash this on your I9100 and play around with it early. Head over to the source link for downloads and instructions. And if you happen to try this out, drop us a line in the comments and let us know how it’s working for you.
