T-Mobile G2 to cost $199 on contract, a stiff $499 without

September 1st, 2010 Ben Marvin 3 comments

If the leaked screenshot you see above is to be believe, the T-Mobile G2, aka the HTC Vision is to be $199 with a new 2 year contract (or upgrade price) and $499 without a contract. Placing it right in line with the pricing of the Motorola Droid X, HTC EVO 4G, and other high end smartphones. The T-Mobile G2 is said to be available late September or early October and features a full QWERTY keyboard and HSPA+ 3.5G data.

Archos 32 finally shows itself via the FCC

August 11th, 2010 Ben Marvin 1 comment

Thanks to this FCC filing, we now know what the Archos 32 looks like and have verification on its specs and features. Touchscreen with soft key controls below the 3.2 inch screen (hence the name 32), as well as GPS, a 3.5mm headphone jack and Bluetooth and WiFi. There’s a microphone, but apparently no camera mentioned as we originally thought. The Archose 32 is still available for preorder from Amazon for only $147, a hair below the MSRP of $150.

Motorola SAGE poses for pictures, headed to AT&T

August 4th, 2010 Ben Marvin No comments

If you took the Motorola CLIQ formfactor, and slapped a CLIQ XT on the face of it, then added Android 2.1, you would have roughly was we have here. This is the Motorola SAGE, finally posing for some clear shots and said to be coming to AT&T, but of course with no time frame. We have a feeling the QWERTY sliding keyboard will sell a bit better than the BACKFLIP weird flip style, but that’s just us. Definitely not a high end device, but in AT&T’s current lineup, it kinda fits right in.

Look for more pictures and specs to come out of the woodwork soon, but for now, head over to Engadget for the rest of the shots.

Froyo 2.2 test builds leak out for the Samsung Galaxy S and HTC Droid Incredible

July 28th, 2010 Ben Marvin No comments

This must be the week for leaks. Besides the reports of Droid X’s running 2.2, and the rumor of the Desire get an update really soon.

A test build of Android 2.2 has been leaked out and you can flash it to your phone now. Unwired View has the details on how to try it out.

And the fine folks over at xda-developers have the hot and fresh Droid Incredible 2.2 ROM for you.

As always, I have to warn, these are not final versions, you could void your warranty, brick your phone, or cause harm to kittens by flashing these leaked ROMS. If you decide to take the leap, let us know how it went.

Picture surfaces of the HTC Vision with T-Mobile branding

July 25th, 2010 Ben Marvin No comments

Engadget got this spy shot from a tipster clearly showing what we know as the HTC “Vision” with T-Mobile branding. No way of knowing right now if it’s headed to T-Mobile US or UK, but it is believed that this is the HSPA+ that TMO referenced on their Twitter account. Supposedly featuring a 1GHz processor and a 3.7-inch WVGA screen, it may be called the “G1 Blaze”. We’ll be watching closely for more leaked information and waiting patiently for that official announcement “in the coming weeks”.

T-Mobile MyTouch Slide pictures leaked

April 12th, 2010 Ben Marvin 1 comment

T-mobile users hungry for some QWERTY and Sense? Well it looks like something good is coming right around the corner. Called the MyTouch Slide, a successor to the MyTouch, or a replacement to the G1, however you want to look at it. Running Android 2.1 with an updated Sense UI overlay that looks much more gorgeous than the HTC Hero version.

As a Motorola Cliq user, and previous T-Mobile G1 owner, I will welcome this handset with open arms to T-Mobile and hope it gets released soon,  and not scrapped like the HTC Lancaster. Oh, sorry AT&T users, did I hit below the belt with that one?

Hit up TMoNews for the rest of the glorious shots.

Motorola Zeppelin aka CLIQ XT coming to T-Mobile 3/10

February 7th, 2010 Ben Marvin Comments off

A recent PowerPoint slide (shown below) revealed that the Motorola Zeppelin (shown above), named the CLIQ XT should be coming to T-Mobile USA launching on March 10th. It’s been described as a “CLIQ without a keyboard”, and should appeal to users that want MotoBLUR, but in a much slimmer design. Specs include MOTOBLUR running on 1.5 (why oh why?), a 3.2-inch HVGA screen, GPS, 5 MP camera with flash, and touch sensitive trackpad and navigational buttons. The price point is rumored to be at or below the current CLIQ, making it an attractive option for new smartphone buyers that don’t need to the high end specs of more expensive models.

Leaked picture of HTC Incredible coming to Verizon Wireless

February 7th, 2010 Ben Marvin 3 comments

This could be the next Android handset coming to Verizon Wireless customers. Said to be running a 1Ghz SnapDragon processor, Android 2.1 with Sense, 256MB of RAM, a 3.5″ or 3.7″ WVGA screen, also a dual LED flash on the camera. Specs equivalent to the Nexus One, but with CDMA love. There is also what is described as an “optical mouse pointer” near the bottom of the device. Hit the link for a few more pictures and a video.

Verizon Android fans, start your drooling, here’s the Motorola Tao

September 30th, 2009 Ben Marvin 2 comments

Looks like I might have to start hanging out at HowardForums again. A member has posted several photos of the Motorola Tao, formerly known as the Sholes. Real life, in the flesh photos, not the prototypes or renders we’ve been seeing forever. Mostly it’s screenshots, but the shot you see above is about the best we have of the actual hardware right now. Pretty much the same as what we’ve been seeing before. I know you Verizon kids are anxious for this to come out so you can put your Blackberry Storm up on eBay.

Click through for more shots and tidbits of info on the Motorola Tao.

T-Mobile’s Upcoming Samsung “Bigfoot” Android Phone Pictured

June 11th, 2009 Ben Marvin 1 comment

Boy Genius got his hands on the above picture of the upcoming Samsung Bigfoot slated to drop on T-Mobile sometime this Summer. Rumored specs include 3MP camera, T-Mobile’s 1700/2100 3G, and 3-inch capacitive AMOLED touch screen. BGR is also speculating GPS and WiFi.

I’m not so hot on the color scheme here, but I would assume T-Mobile wouldn’t be stupid enough to offer just this one color, more likely 2 or 3 different colors as with their previous Android offerings.
