Comparing the HTC Evo 4G and the Samsung Epic 4G [video]

August 11th, 2010 Ben Marvin 1 comment

Can’t decide if you want the Evo 4G or the Epic 4G? Not really sure the differences besides the physical appearance? Well, Sprint threw together this video to help you decide. I guess all they really care is that you buy one or the other.

Personally, I’d have a hard time deciding myself, as both are real Android powerhouses.

Sprint’s second Android phone with a QWERTY keyboard, and also their second featuring 4G WiMax connectivity. This short promo video shows off the Samsung Epic 4G, Sprint version of the Galaxy S, and the only one with a hardware keyboard so far. Sprint people, will you be looking to get one? Or is the HTC Evo more your fancy?

June 1st, 2010 Ben Marvin No comments

Do you like Android phones? Do you like porn? Well how about a little of both. Wired.com got some camera time with iFixit’s Kyle Wiens as he sat down and took apart the latest Sprint Android powerhouse, the HTC Evo 4G. We won’t bore you with the specs, we know you already have them memorized, let’s get to the good stuff:

The HTC EVO 4G is due in Sprint stores June 4th with a price of $199 after rebate on a new 2 year contract. Do you want one more now that you’ve seen her naked?

One of HTC’s latest Android handsets, geared toward the bottom of the smartphone scale, but Android none the less, is shown off in a little video spot here. The phone will be coming to T-Mobile UK and Virgin Media, as well as perhaps other carriers in Europe.

T-Mobile Garminfone hands-on [Video]

May 1st, 2010 Ben Marvin No comments

TmoNews posted a quick video of the T-Mobile Garminfone, which was announced by Tmobile 2 weeks ago. While the specs of the phone are nothing to write home about, it’s nice to see the heavily customized interface that Garmin Asus added on top of Android 1.6, which really pushes the navigation aspect of the phone. The video gives you a better idea of where this puts the phone in the Android lineup, and it kind of stands on its own a little, which could be a good thing.

Android running on first generation Apple iPhone

April 22nd, 2010 Ben Marvin 1 comment

We knew it was being worked on by several different hackers, and now we have the video right before our eyes. Android fully up and running on a first generation iPhone. The normal for porting has usually been to HTC Windows Mobile phones, but it’s nice to see someone sticking it to Steve Jobs. This would definitely make the iPhone more appealing to an Android fan, but hey, it’s still no Android phone. Hit the read link for more nerdy details and source code to do it yourself. Doing so could brick the iPhone, so be sure to try with your friend’s iPhone. ;)

The mysterious HTC supersonic, rumored to be headed to Sprint and running on their 4G WiMax network was caught on film briefly. Slim details are known other than that it’s running Android, it will be blazing fast, and sports a 4.3 inch display. Check out the video clip and start drooling.

Saddest Sprint HTC Hero unboxing video ever

October 1st, 2009 Ben Marvin 3 comments

I had a little chuckle and a little frown at this unboxing video. Unboxing videos are generally crap, but this one is worth a look. It’s a bit long, but skip ahead to about the 1 minute mark for the action. Nobody likes to see a brand new phone destroyed, especially if it’s an Android phone.
