Our friends to the north in Canada already have a couple of carrier choices for the Galaxy Nexus, and starting January 13th, 3 more carriers will be joining the ranks of Nexus. Rogers, Fido and Telus will all begin selling the Samsung Galaxy Nexus next week. Although pricing has not been announced, Bell and Virgin are currently selling the device for $159 on a 3 year contract and $649 outright.

Now if only we could get the Galaxy Nexus on at least the big 4 carriers here in the US we would be happy. Oh that’s right, it’s apparently coming to Sprint later this year.

If you built a custom cannon that could fire a Motorola RAZR, you wouldn’t just stop after shooting it at a cake? Of course not, and neither has Canadian carrier Rogers. Based on customer votes, they’ve made two more videos titled RAZR vs The Movies and RAZR vs Blank Canvas. It’s half marketing stunt, but we’re pretty sure the footage isn’t doctored, just don’t try this at home.

Canadian carrier Rogers is ramping up their advertising for the Motorola RAZR. The first in a series of videos shows the 7.1mm smartphone being fired out of an air cannon at an egg, and a fully decorated cake. The slo-motion results are pretty spectacular. After turning the egg into a scrambled breakfast and slicing the cake faster than a kid at a birthday party, the RAZR seems to survive and fully function after wiping off the sticky mess.

If you enjoyed the video, Rogers has invited people to vote on the next video. The choices appear to be more food products, probably with similar results.

I have to say, although it’s kinda cheeky advertising, it’s a bit more effective than Verizon’s “Droid” themed advertising with robots and the RAZR slicing through lamp posts. The Rogers video is a bit more realistic in showing off the device, but I still wouldn’t try it with my own device.

If you’re on AT&T or T-Mobile that is. You can pick up an unlocked Galaxy S II that’s compatible either GSM carrier (3G only works on AT&T), it will also work with Rogers or Fido in Canada.

NewEgg has recently made available the flagship handset for $649.99, which is less than the MSRP of $799. It’s also available at Amazon for as little as $636 from various sellers. While it’s a little higher than most of us are used to paying for a smartphone, the SGS2 is one of the best Android phones out right now. If you can’t stomach the price, it may be another month or so before the device is actually released by a carrier in the US.

T-mobile customers had the exclusive Nexus One love from Google for long enough. They just announced that you can now order your Nexus One with 3G bands for AT&T in the US and Rogers in Canada. The only downside is no subsidies here, you’re going to have to plunk down the whole $529 to get the slickest Android phone straight from Google.

Here’s the official announcement:

In early January, we announced the Nexus One, the first device sold through Google’s web store. The Nexus One is unlocked, which means you can use it with a SIM card from most GSM operators worldwide. Currently the device is compatible with most 3G networks, including T-Mobile in the US. However, there are some carriers that have different 3G frequencies, such as AT&T in the US and Rogers Wireless in Canada, so users with these SIM cards can only access 2G or EDGE networks on their Nexus One.

Starting today, an additional version of the Nexus One is available from the Google web store that is compatible with AT&T’s 3G network. This new model can be purchased as an unlocked device without a service plan. In addition to AT&T’s 3G network, this device will also run on Rogers Wireless in Canada. And like the first version of the Nexus One, it can be used with most GSM operators globally.

Additionally, Nexus One devices can now be shipped to Canada from Google’s web store, and will work with a SIM from Rogers Wireless.
