Looking to get some extra battery life out of your HTC One S and get some protection at the same time? Well then look no further than the new PowerSkin case, now available for the One S. The soft rubberized case wraps your phone in comfortable protection, while at the same time adding a 1500mAh battery for those times when you need a little extra juice. It also comes with a built-in On/Off switch, so you can keep the extra power in reserve till you really need it as well as LED lights showing battery level remaining and charge status.

PowerSkin already has a few of their signature cases available for various HTC’s, Samsung’s and other devices, and they’re excited to now have it for the One S. Here’s what Christian Haze, Product Manager for PowerSkin, had to say: “With the One S being one of HTC’s fastest phones launched to date, it requires an incredible pull from the battery. The speed is impressive for any user, so we wanted to make sure we provided a solution to keep people charged and connected while on the go. PowerSkin’s slim-fitting silicone case is soft to the touch, yet ruggedly durable, also packing a powerful punch – extending talk time nearly 4 hours.”

The asking price for this wonder of technology? A mere $69.99. While it’s slightly more expensive than you’re average 3rd party extended battery, it’s hard to find a better looking extended power and case solution out there.

There might be more Android phones out there than iPhones, but there’s not a whole lot of speaker docks specifically for Android phones. Of course that’s because there’s no uniformity among manufacturers with regards to placement of USB and audio ports. This speaker dock from Digital Innovation is specifically made for Android phones that have a 3.5mm audio jack and Micro USB port, which is 99% of Android phones.

It features 6 watts of power delivered through 2 speakers and 10 watts of bass from a sub-woofer. With the installation of the SONR app on your phone, the wireless remote can control volume, play/pause and skip track. Controls are also on the speaker dock itself.

You can purchase the speaker dock from Digital Innovations, ThinkGeek or Amazon for $99.

If you’re looking to get a bit more uptime out of your Verizon LTE device, it’s not a bad idea to pick up an extended battery. Right now in the Verizon accessories store, all extended batteries are 50% off for 4G LTE devices. Most of them are currently selling for $24.99 right now, which is a decent price for an OEM battery, not to mention an extended battery. Plus you get free 2 day shipping for accessories only orders. A handful of batteries are currently sold out, so you might want to hurry if you expect to take advantage of the deal.

If you’re like the average Android user, you probably listen to music on your phone. Whether it’s through the phone speaker, headphones or plugged into your car or home speakers, music is a big part of any Android device. There’s even dedicated music players such as the Samsung Galaxy Player and Archos 32 and 43. However one option that seems to be missing from every single Android device is an FM transmitter.

Sure, the FM radio is built into a lot of phone chipsets and enabled with an app, most of the time included on the phone. But what if you want to stream music straight to your phone to your car stereo. The usual options are always there: Use an AUX cable or cassette tape adapter, use an external bluetooth or FM Transmitter, but there’s always extra hardware to buy. So why don’t Android devices (or most phones for that matter) include a built-in FM transmitter?

From memory and a little bit of research, I was only able to find a handful of devices that actually include an FM transmitter built into the hardware:

The outdated Archos 5 Internet Tablet

The insanely expensive Ulysse Nardin Chairman luxury phone with prices starting at $12,000

The Lumigon T1

And a handful of other no-name Chinese tablets

If there are any other devices out there, feel free to let us know.

Now obviously for a device to function as an FM transmitter it must have the proper internal hardware. I’m no expert on chipsets nor app development, so I’m not sure if it’s possible for a device with an FM receiver to be reversed and function the other way around. If it’s a matter of hardware, then the major chip makers out there like Texas Instruments, Samsung and Qualcomm just don’t see the need or demand for it. Perhaps it’s just me, but I think it would be a low-cost feature that users could really benefit from. Kind of like a built into a TV remote, but that’s a whole other subject. What about you? Would you be more likely to buy an Android device if you knew you could easily stream music to any radio with a built-in FM transmitter?

A lot of times with a newly released Android phone, you have to struggle to find compatible accessories aside from the handful that are sometimes sold via your carrier. It looks like HTC is changing that with the HTC Rezound (aka HTC Vigor), said to be hitting Verizon on November 10th. The official OEM extended battery from HTC is already being stocked by the HTCPedia Shop. And when you’ve got 4G LTE and a 4.5 inch 720p display sucking down juice, you’re gonna want a hefty battery.

The extended battery is a 2750mAh model, 1130mAh more than the standard battery of 1620mAh. And it comes with a replacement battery door, all of which adds about a third of an inch to your device. We’re still not sure on how much life you’ll get out of the Rezound with this mega extended battery, but it’s sure to be a lot.

As the Ingenu website says: “Ever try playing a game on your Android with those awful on-scsreen controls? That sh*t SUCKS.” If you like playing games on your phone, but aren’t really fond of touchscreen controls, you have a few different options. You could buy a dedicated gaming phone, such as the Sony Ericsson Xperia PLAY or even just a phone with a hardware keyboard. If you already have a phone with a keyboard, there are dedicated gaming options such as the Game Gripper. But what if you already like your phone’s large touchscreen and thin body? This is where the Ingenu Bluetooth Easymote comes in.

There have previously been hacks with PlayStation controllers and other input methods for Android gaming. But the Easymote is a dedicated controller. It’s meant to do one thing and it does it well. Most people will immediately recognize the iconic Super Nintendo style controller, but Ingenu says the final product will be slightly different. It will include a D-Pad, a start and a select button, two shoulder buttons and four regular buttons, which should be enough for most every game out there. The Easymote connects to your phone via Bluetooth, no wires or worrying about having the right port on your device. Rooting your phone is not required, and it works with Android 2.1 or higher.

Although pricing has not been announced, Ingenu will start taking pre-orders for the device starting on September 30th, this Friday. You can also sign up on their website for product news and announcements. Meanwhile, check out some videos of the Easymote in action:

The HTC Thunderbolt only has 1400 mAh, the LG Revolution 1500 mAh, and the Samsung Droid Charge has 1500 mAh, but the Bionic comes stock with a 1735 mAh battery. If that’s not enough to get you through the day, the OEM extended battery gives you a whopping 2760 mAh, and it actually doesn’t look too bad. Certainly a lot better than the Thunderbolt’s hideous replacement battery door.

Update: We just found out the extended battery is 50% off from Verizon right now, probably for a limited time. It will show up as $49.99 on the site, but drops to $24.99 when you add it to your cart.
