Look what I got! The Android Robot Wall Charger

November 12th, 2009

There really needs to be more Android accessories with featuring the mascot robot. Most accessories are boring these days. And if they are flashy or interesting, it’s the wrong kind, like Hello Kitty branded stuff.

This is the wall charger that came with an Android knockoff phone called the SciPhone. It will take a normal sized USB cable so it can be used with multiple phones, or any USB device really. Picked it up on eBay for 8 bucks, but I can’t seem to find them on there anymore. Oh, and the eyes are green LEDs that light up when it’s plugged in.

The CLIQ doesn’t really take good pictures in low light, does it?

DIY: Knex fold up phone dock

September 23rd, 2009

Thought this was pretty cool, so I’d share. A simply but effective DIY phone dock for your G1, or any phone for that matter. It only caught my eye because they used a G1 in the picture. If you don’t feel like spending the 10 bucks on one of those fancy dock stations for you G1, or you’re just into cool little DIY projects.

What do you use to hold your Android phone when it’s not in your hand?

Make Your G1 Look Ridiculous with this “Phone Telescope”

February 24th, 2009

With looks that only a mother could love, this accessory claims to improve the pictures you take at long range. Although the 3.2MP camera on the T-Mobile G1 is hardly a replacement for a point-and-shoot camera, let alone a pro camera.

We can only assume this product description is a translation: “Overcome the short coming of camera cellphone that can only near-sighted, it also makes distant view for you at the moment. The new design to run of rays can effectively avoid the contortion of image, and makes the super wide angle, the larger luminous flux, the higher visual acuteness, good for color reduction, which makes the high quality of photography.

I’m still skeptical of exactly how much this would improve any pictures, I would love to at least see some samples. But at only $17 and including a full crystal case, I can see more than a few people interested enough to try it out.

Clever G1 Phone Stand From Innovation Wednesday

January 29th, 2009

Here’s a cool little accessory I ran across on YouTube. It’s a plastic stand that will hold your G1 (or iPhone) at a 90 or 60 degree angle. The concept is rather simple: You clip the USB cord (or charger) into the stand, then plug it in, and it hold your phone securely in the upright position. You can pick one up here for $5.99 each. But it makes you wonder how much it costs to produce a simple plastic piece. I’m sure if they offered colors or cool designs, people would be snapping these up like hotcakes.

Check out the video to see how simple it is:
