Best Buy already taking pre-orders for the HTC One X on AT&T

The HTC One X was only just made official by HTC yesterday and electronics retailer Best Buy is already accepting pre-orders for the device when it comes to AT&T in the coming months. Since AT&T has neglected to give a firm release date yet, Best Buy is shooting for the vague launch time of April. And with the lack of pricing, a pre-order at Best Buy will require a $50 down payment, and the unknown balance to be paid later.

Best Buy HTC One X pre-orders

As you may recall from the announcement, the international version of the HTC One X is packing the quad-core Tegra 3 processor. However since the Tegra 3 doesn’t play nice with AT&T’s LTE network, the AT&T One X will have a dual core Snapdragon S4 instead.

Anyone impressed with the phone enough to hop on over to their local Best Buy and reserve your One X today? Or would you rather wait till it’s released?

It looks like the Global phone is able to do the HSPA network here in the US. Any one found contrary?

According to the specs sheet, the international version supports the 850/1900 bands that AT&T uses, so it should be able to do HSPA+ on AT&T and a handful of other GSM carriers, but not T-Mobile.

The advantage of the AT&T specific version is the addition of LTE connectivity. Even though the processor is a dual-core instead of quad-core the latest S4 Snapdragon processors are almost matched to the Tegra 3 in terms of performance.
