SIM unlocking your phone is something most of us only think about when buying or selling a phone. However with an unlocked SIM, you can use your phone on another carrier by just popping in a new SIM card. To unlock your device, it used to be an incredibly complex affair to do it yourself, or you would have to pay someone for the unlock code.

Now with this new Windows tool from stock+ Group, it’s a breeze to obtain the unlock code for the Samsung Galaxy S (GT-I9000) and early version of the Galaxy S II (GT-9100). No hex editors or modifying of files is necessary, the program generates the actual unlock code for your device and you unlock it with the normal procedure.
It’s unlikely the tool will work for any of the North American phones, but if you give it a shot, let us know in the comments how it worked out. For downloads and more info, check out the thread on XDA Developers here.
