Accessory maker Anymode inadvertently confirms Galaxy Note for AT&T [Updated]

Looks like another big CES announcement was just outed before it should have been. Accessory manufacturer Anymode seems to have just confirmed the Samsung Galaxy Note is coming to AT&T soon. In a CES related press release, they casually let it slip that AT&T has picked them to provide OEM accessories, and the device will be available early 2012. While we’ve seen the Galaxy Note at the FCC with AT&T bands, and we’ve seen a leaked image of the AT&T version of the 5.2 inch phone, there has yet to be any official announcement. But we’ll probably hear something from AT&T and Samsung at CES 2012 next week. AT&T is no stranger to larger devices, previously carrying the Dell Streak, a 5 inch device, and the Samsung Infuse, a 4.5 inch phone.

UPDATE: Shortly after this story broke, Anymode’s PR department quickly went into damage control mode and attempted to put out the fire by issuing this retraction:

RETRACTION OF EARLIER CES ANNOUNCEMENT

JANUARY 6, 2012 -The January 5, 2012 CES Media Alert titled “Anymode Introduces First Accessories for Samsung Galaxy Note” contained inaccurate information pertaining to AT&T and the release of the Samsung Galaxy Note.

The information was not provided by Anymode, AT&T or Samsung , nor did Anymode, AT&T or Samsung approve it.

The issuing party apologizes for the publishing of the inaccurate information and any inconvenience it may have caused.

Too late. The cat’s already out of the bag.
