The recently released LG Esteem on Metro PCS now has root access. The standard Gingerbreak rooting procedure was not a workable option, but thanks to “Mr. MetroPCS”, @Mtmichaelson and @djrbliss we have a one-click rooting option available.
To root your device, first grab the LG drivers here if you’re using Windows. Then go to Settings > Applications > Development and turn on USB Debugging. Install the drivers if you haven’t already, then connect your phone. Select Internet Connection on your phone from the drop down shade. Grab the LG_Esteem_Root.zip package here. Unpack and open run.bat to root your phone.
