Samsung announced the 8.9 inch version of the Galaxy Tab way back in March, and it’s just now making its way to the US. Best Buy is now taking preorders for the mid-sized Honeycomb tablet. The 16GB model is priced at $469, while the 32GB will set you back $569. If you ask us that’s just a bit to much considering the other tablets you can get for that kinda money, especially for the WiFi-only model. If this was the beefed up LTE version, the price might be just right. In case you forgot, here’s a quick rundown of the Tab 8.9 specs:
- 8.9″ WXGA TFT display with 1280 x 800 resolution
- Dual-core 1Ghz processor
- 3MP rear camera, 2MP front camera
- Android 3.1
- GPS, WiFi, Bluetooth connectivity
- 6000 mAh battery
- 8.6 mm, 470 grams
There’s no word on when the Tab 8.9 will actually be available, but Best Buy rarely does pre-orders for longer than a week or two. We’ll be keeping an eye out for these things on retail shelves sooner than later.
