A few popular Android apps rolled out some updates today. Words With Friends now lets you connect to Facebook and play with friends there. There’s a few new features and improvements to Places in Google Maps. Also 15 new levels of Angry Birds have been released.
Words With Friends:
In what they’re calling a really big update, Word With Friends now lets you connect to your Facebook account and play with friends there, as well as on iOS. You can see which of your Facebook friends are using Words and start games with them. Unfortunately it’s not supported for Honeycomb users quite yet, but is promised soon. There’s also a few bug fixes thrown in for good measure.

Google Maps:
Google Maps 5.8 brings a few new features for Places and check-ins. Your favorite map program is getting more social. You can now upload pictures of places you visit, and even add places that aren’t get in Google Maps.

- Descriptive terms for Places in search results
- Add a new Place on-the-go when checking in
