I’m sure everyone sighs deeply when an older phone gets a minor update, and it’s not a major firmware upgrade. The latest of such is for the Verizon Droid Eris, which will probably be on Eclair forever for those that don’t root and upgrade.
The new software versionĀ 2.41.605.6 brings a few minor updates, as well as a new radio for hopefully improved data/voice connections.
List of changes include:
- Improved Bluetooth connection to Mercedes-Benz E350 automobiles
- New Twitter authentication
- Visually improved Received Signal Strength Indicator
- Pre-loaded Visual Voice Mail
- Sync-able Microsoft Exchange Server 2010 calendars
- MMS can now be sent with or without text, and devices on other carriers will now receive multimedia messages
Not a whole lot to get super excited about, unless maybe you drive a Mercedes E350. You can read more about the update from Verizon here [PDF link].
