Looks like this week is the week for pushing your Android phone processor to the limits. The T-Mobile G2 sports Qualcomm Scorpion processor normally running at 800Mhz, but xda-developers member and hacker coolbho3000 has bumped that up to 1.42GHz, and it’s still stable. Nabbing a Quadrant score of 2264, which is lightyears ahead of any production phone right now. Check out the video here:
Next up is the Droid 2 and Droid X, which both run a Texas Instruments OMAP processor clocking 1GHz, but members of Team DeFuse, using a custom ROM and kernel, have doubled the clock speed to 2GHz, although still a little unstable at those speeds, it’s still a work in progress and we’re hoping they have it smoothed out soon for everyday usage.
