Although it doesn’t offer a whole lot in the way of looks or specs, the Motorola Defy offers something other Android devices don’t have. IP67 water and dust resistance rating means it’s fully protected from dust, anyone that’s had many smartphones knows that some models love to get dust under the screen. And the defy is also water resistant up to 1 meter of water for up to 30 minutes, almost unheard of in any phone really. Other specs include:
- TI OMAP3610 @ 800 MHz
- Quadband GSM
- 59 x 107 x 13.4mm / 2.3 x 4.2 x .53in
- 118g / 4.2oz
- 5 Megapixel AF Camera With Flash
- Swype Keyboard
- 3.7 inch touchscreen
- Android 2.1 (but supposed to get 2.2 upgrade)
No word on pricing or availability, but if you need a rugged phone, and don’t want to carry an outdated Nextel, then this midrange Android phone is one to look out for. Anyone looking forward to this?
