How should Google change the Android Market to attract iPhone developers?

The Business Insider has an interesting article about what Google should be doing to fix the Android Market for customer as well as to attract iPhone developers. While some are very obvious such as desktop browsing (like iTunes) and selling more phones, they hit on a few subtle points, such as making all paid apps the same currency and device fragmentation. Although sites such a Cyrket make desktop browsing possible, the only way to install is through a QR code, or still having to find the app in the Market on your device. Any changes would not happen overnight, but we know Google is a smart company and Android has been very big for them so far. We’re confident the Android market will rival the iPhone app store in no time.

While most of the ideas in the article are geared toward developers, it would benefit Android users as well. What changes would you like to see come to the Android Market system as a user or developer?

As of the 1.6 market update, some apps do have screenshots, but it’s up to the developer to add them. It’s definitely a good idea to attract people to your app. I hate getting something ugly with a good description.

Note that there exists a third party iTunes-like website for Android, appbrain.com. It allows to select apps for installation in the browser, and then syncs this to the phone.
This simplifies installing apps a lot compared to using QR codes.

Google doesn’t need to do a thing to attract iphone developers. Smart developers will look at the explosive growth of android and come around on their own.

The Android Market has many problems , and I will list a few of this problems which effect developers and users ( directly and indirectly ):

1- Although there are many android phones in the world , almost 70% percent of the users can’t buy apps due to Google locking the ability to buy apps to a few networks ! , on the other hand the app store allows you to buy apps on any network .

2- Only developers from the US and a few countries can publish paid
apps , and this could effect the sales deeply , for instance if a developer published a paid app and another developer from a country where he can’t charge for apps published a similar app for free , then every one will download the free app instead ! .

3- Finally , many android phones comes with out android market , and google didn’t make the market available a stand alone application , so you will need to do many hard steps to install it , which is to complicated for the average consumer .

now since you know about this problems who would you blame , its obvious “Google” .
