Similar to Chomp SMS in that it has an on-screen softkeyboard, with auto-rotate for landscape or portrait modes, Handcent SMS has a feature that many users desired, T9 predictive text entry. With the advances in smartphones and the prices going down, many people are migrating from handsets with T9 entry only to find a full QWERTY cumbersome, but now the transition can be a little easier with this slick app. With features like unicode support and ability to add an SMS signature, many users will feel right at home texting like normal. You can also send batch SMS, train the predictive text and even set it as the default SMS program. And the T9 interface makes it easy to text one-handed while you sip your coffee.
