Opera Mini for Android has graduated from beta to a full build. After listening to what Android users had to say, Opera has improved the alternative browser into a great fast alternative to the Android browser.
New features include:
- Access to the SD card for uploading and downloading and also the ability to save pages locally
- Support for video playback
- Double tap works for zoom/unzoom
- Use of inline url entry instead of native textbox
- Fixed problems with exiting application when back button was pressed
- Improved trackball speed.
The Opera Mini browser does much of it’s work through a proxy server, improving the speed of which pages load, especially helpful for those not in 3G coverage areas. You can download Opera Mini through the Android Market or get it here.
